Nick “Shep” Shepard has been a dedicated student of the craft since 2009, serving in both volunteer and career roles throughout his fire service journey. He found his love for truck work early and is currently assigned to Truck 1 in Wilmington, NC, where he continues to refine his skills and mentor others.

While truck work is his foundation, Shep has expanded his passion for engine operations, believing that true versatility strengthens both the firefighter and the team. He serves as an instructor for the Wilmington Fire Academy and the Cape Fear Community College Fire Academy, and he also contributes to the Truck Company Ops training group, helping to develop firefighters who are confident, capable, and committed to the job.

Driven by a desire to learn, teach, and share the craft, Shep embraces the pursuit of firemanship with humility and enthusiasm.
