Mark Neal got his start in the fire service after graduating from the Coastal Carolina Fire Academy in 2017 with the City Havelock Fire Department, where he served from 2017 to 2019 while learning the ins and outs of the job and building a strong foundation in the fire service.
In 2019, Mark joined the City of Kinston Fire Department and later that year also began serving with the Indian Beach Fire Department, where he continues to work today as an Engineer. Since 2020, he has also worked part-time with the Newport Fire Department.
Known by many as a "jack of all trades," Mark enjoys taking on new challenges and learning every aspect of the fire service. Whether it's responding to emergencies, operating apparatus, teaching skills, fixing equipment, or helping around the station, he's always willing to jump in wherever needed. His practical experience, hands-on approach, and passion for the fire service makes him a valuable member of any team and a relatable instructor for firemen of all experience levels
