John Blackburn began his fire service career in 2021 with the Wrightsville Beach Fire Department in North Carolina as a volunteer. In 2023, he joined the Wilmington Fire Department, where he currently rides backseat on Truck 1.
Early in his career, John is focused on building a strong foundation in the fire service. He takes pride in showing up ready to work and earning his place through consistent effort, discipline, and performance. He brings energy, accountability, and a willingness to learn to every call and training.
John has a strong passion for learning every aspect of the fire service, with a particular interest in truck company operations. He is committed to improving his skills and knowledge and strives to become a well-rounded, capable firefighter who can perform when it matters most.
